Under the funeral vaults of the mausoleum of the ancient and cruel Emperor Xaltotun of Python, three men devoured by ambition have come to seek the key to their power. They come to offer the lifeless body of the former emperor the heart of Ahriman, the source of immortality that once belonged to him and was only taken away at the cost of his life. In return for this offering the three men only claim one thing from the former emperor: the world. However, there is only one being able to stand in their way, a Cimmerian who has seized the throne of Aquilonia: Conan. Deep in the plain of Valkia, the armies of Conan and Xaltotun will clash. Led by their leader, the soldiers of the Cimmerian will believe in victory until the end before failing in the face of the power of Xaltotun's incantations. In his fall, Conan will hear the cries of his brothers in arms before recovering his senses in the jails of the enemy. But even fallen so low, even witnessing the immeasurable strength of the enemy, Conan will rise again.

The only Conan novel in Robert E. Howard's bibliography, L'Heure du dragon has now been adapted into a comic book by two heroic fantasy figures: Julien Blondel and Valentin Sécher. Over the virtuoso boards of an album loaded with the breath of legend, the two authors reconstruct a grandiose, epic and bloodthirsty adventure.
